Lucas Brown ’09 of Leesburg, VA, a sustainability advocate and economics major at Oberlin College, has been named a 2009 Rhodes Scholar. He will enter the University of Oxford in England in October 2009 to pursue an M.Phil. degree in economics.
The Oberlin Conservatory of Music will present its special brand of cutting-edge contemporary music as part of its inaugural West Coast tour in January 2009. The first two stops feature alumni ensembles eighth blackbird and the Prima Trio.

Oberlin College has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the economic competitiveness of Northeast Ohio by joining The Fund for Our Economic Future. The Fund supports economic development in the region through grantmaking, research, and civic outreach.
The Annapolis Brass Quintet has donated its entire collection of published music scores and parts, music manuscripts, and related correspondence to the Conservatory. To celebrate the gift, the Conservatory is sponsoring a free, public concert on November 16.
